EAX Monthly Contest
🤖
AI
Builds.

Every month, EAX students gather for two intense days to build real products using AI agents. Claude, GPT, Cursor, Copilot — whatever tools you want. The constraint is time. The goal is shipping.

The Concept
What Are AI Builds?

AI Builds is EAX's monthly hackathon where the only rule is: you must build with AI agents. Not just use ChatGPT for ideas — actually integrate AI into your development workflow and your product.

$ cat /eax/ai-builds/manifesto.txt // THE IDEA "Two days. One product. AI-powered from start to finish." // WHY WE DO THIS # The world is changing. AI isn't replacing developers — # it's amplifying them. But only if you know how to use it. # Most people play with AI. We build with it. > Every month, a new theme drops. > You form a team (or go solo). > You have 48 hours to build something real. > AI agents must be part of your workflow AND your product. > At the end, you demo. Peers vote. The best builds get recognized. // THE PHILOSOPHY > Speed matters. Shipping matters more. > Perfect code doesn't exist in 48 hours — and that's the point. > Learn to leverage AI to move 10x faster. > Learn what AI is good at — and where you still need to think.
The Process
How It Works.

From theme announcement to final demo — here's the full timeline of an AI Builds contest.

📢
Day 0 — Week Before
Theme Drop
The monthly theme is announced on Telegram. Start brainstorming. Form your team. Research AI tools that fit the theme.
🚀
Day 1 — Morning
Kickoff
The 48-hour clock starts. Brief intro, rules recap, team registration. Then go — build, prototype, iterate. No time to waste.
🔧
Day 1–2 — Build
Hack
Code, prompt, integrate, deploy. Use AI agents to scaffold, generate, test, and ship. Mentors available for technical guidance.
🎤
Day 2 — Evening
Demo
3 minutes per team. Show what you built, how AI was used, and why it matters. Live demo, not slides. Crashes are fine — they mean you pushed hard.
🏆
Day 2 — Night
Vote & Win
Peer voting decides the winners. Categories: Best Product, Best AI Integration, Most Creative, Best Solo Build. Recognition + bragging rights.
Rules & Format
The Rules.

Simple rules. Maximum creativity. Here's what you need to know before you join.

AI Agents Required
Your project must meaningfully use AI agents — in the development process, in the product itself, or both. Simply using autocomplete doesn't count. We mean real AI integration.
⏱️
48-Hour Time Limit
From kickoff to submission — 48 hours. No pre-built code. You can plan and research beforehand, but every line of code must be written during the contest window.
👥
Teams of 1–3
Solo or small teams. No massive squads — the goal is that every person is building, not managing. Three people max forces everyone to contribute.
🎯
Must Follow Theme
Each month has a theme. Your project must relate to it. Interpretation is flexible — creative angles are encouraged — but it needs to connect.
🚢
Must Be Deployed
If it's a web app, it needs a live URL. If it's a CLI tool, it needs a working repo. The demo must show a real, running product — not a localhost screenshot.
🗳️
Peer Voting
No external judges. Your peers decide the winners. Everyone who participates gets to vote. This keeps it fair, community-driven, and honest.
📋
Submission Checklist
Before the demo, make sure your submission is complete. Incomplete submissions can still demo, but won't be eligible for voting.
  • Working deployed product or live demo
  • GitHub repo (public or shared with judges)
  • README with project description
  • List of AI tools/agents used and how
  • 3-minute demo video or live presentation
  • Team member names and roles
  • Brief write-up of challenges faced
  • Screenshots or screen recording
Recommended Tools
Your AI Arsenal.

Use any AI tools you want. Here are some favorites from past contestants.

🧠
Claude
Anthropic's frontier model. Best for complex reasoning, code generation, and long-context tasks. Claude Code for terminal-native AI development.
🤖
GPT / ChatGPT
OpenAI's models. Great for brainstorming, content generation, and API integration. GPT-4 for complex tasks, GPT-3.5 for speed.
Cursor
AI-native code editor. Tab completion, inline editing, chat-driven refactoring. The fastest way to turn ideas into code with AI assistance.
✈️
GitHub Copilot
AI pair programmer in your editor. Autocomplete on steroids. Best when you know what you want and need to type it faster.
🎨
v0 / Bolt
AI-generated UI components. Describe what you want, get production-ready React/Next.js code. Perfect for rapid frontend prototyping.
🔗
Custom Agents
Build your own AI agents using LangChain, CrewAI, or raw API calls. The most impressive builds often feature custom-built agent workflows.

Recognition
Why Compete.

It's not about prizes — it's about proof. But recognition doesn't hurt.

🥇
Best Product
The build that's most complete, polished, and useful. Judged on UX, functionality, and real-world viability. Featured on EAX Magazine.
🤖
Best AI Integration
The most creative, deep, or impressive use of AI agents. Not just using AI — pushing what's possible with it. Technical depth matters.
💡
Most Creative
The wildest, most unexpected, or most original idea. The build that makes people say "I didn't know you could do that." Surprise wins here.
🐺
Best Solo Build
Built alone in 48 hours. Extra respect for the lone wolves who ship a complete product without a team. Proves you can do it all.
📋
Portfolio Credit
Every submission becomes a portfolio piece. Winners get featured case studies on EAX. Real projects, real deadlines, real proof of what you can build.
🌟
Community Cred
Consistent participants build a reputation. The leaderboard tracks wins across months. Top builders become mentors, judges, and community leaders.
